David Campbell

Director/Battery Arranger

BIO

Dave Campbell, is the director of Nomad Indoor and the General Butler Vagabonds Junior Drum and Bugle Corps from Butler, PA. He previously served in this capacity from 1996-2001 and took the corps to their first ever finalist spot in the Drum Corps International Division III Championship in addition to securing the coveted “Disney Spirit Award” in 1998.

 

He was also the director and designer for Three Rivers Indoor Percussion based out of Monroeville. T.R.I.P. captured the WGI Dayton Regional Class A Champion during it’s inaugural season of 2011 and was promoted to Open Class in 2014.

 

Dave also served as program coordinator for the Pioneer Drum Corps from Milwaukee, WI for the 2002, 2003 and 2017 seasons. He is a former WGI percussion adjudicator and has also judged for: Drum Corps International, Drum Corps Associates. Drum Corps East, The Mid East Judges Association, Indiana State Scholastic Music Association, Indiana Percussion Association, Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association, and the Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges.

 

Dave received his B.S. in music education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where he studied with PAS Hall of Fame timpanist Stanley Leonard and Gerald Unger of the Pittsburgh Symphony. He also taught the Steel City Ambassadors and Golden Lancers drum corps, The Holidays and East Butler Sparks Drum and Baton Corps and over 25 local and national marching bands over the years.
